About the South West Community Drug Service Team

The St John of God South West Community Drug Service Team is a multi disciplinary team that works with the community providing information, resources, consultation, and education and counselling with confidentiality ensured. The South West Community Drug Service Team is funded by St John of God Health Care and the State and Commonwealth.

The Team has been providing alcohol and drug support services since 1998 in the South West of Western Australia. During this time, the team has developed its services by identifying gaps within existing community services and developing services to meet those needs. This has created opportunity to access those most at risk and provide relevant and appropriate care, free of charge and readily available, across a wide geographical area.

The team works closely with mental health service providers, medical and health professionals, Department of Community Development, Department of Corrective Services, other human service providers and local communities.

Our aim is to provide (free of charge) easily accessible counselling and support for individual’s and their significant others and consultation, shared case management, education, training and counselling for the community of the South West.
