APM
About us
YES Personnel, now joined with Advanced Personnel
Management, is an Open Employment Support Service for
job seekers with a permanent disability and with an assessed need
for both short-term and long-term support needs in the
workplace.
Our open employment support service is aimed at people with
disabilities who want to work but choose to do so in a supported
employment environment or who, because they have higher support
needs, normally find it hard to find and keep a job. Our team
supports people with disabilities, often in specialist working
environments.
Wherever possible, employees in supported employment will be
provided with the additional skills and support needed to make the
transition into open employment a positive and enduring one.
Please note, if you are seeking access to our employment
services and you do not have a current eligibility assessment, a
new one may be arranged for you by
Centrelink, or in some cases by our team of employment
consultants. Centrelink can provide you with information about
suitable service providers in your area, and can give you a
referral. If you need more help, contact Centrelink.
Job assessment process
Job assessment (Centrelink)
We are part of a network of specialist employment services
providing assistance to people with disability, injury or ill
health. Our service may be available to you only if you are an
Australian resident.
If you do not already have a current assessment of your work
capacity you will generally need to be assessed by a
Centrelink Job Capacity Assessment Provider. The Job Capacity
Assessment Provider can then refer you to our service to
discuss and explore options that best suit your needs.
Job assessment (DEEWR)
Since 1 July 2009, the
Job Capacity Assessment program has been managed by the
Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations
(DEEWR). The Job Capacity Assessment program provides comprehensive
work capacity assessment, combining referral to employment and
related support services with assessment of work capacity for
income support purposes (such as Disability Support Pension,
partial capacity to work and exemptions from activity-testing due
to medical conditions lasting more than 13 weeks).
Assessments are conducted by allied health professionals, such
as registered psychologists and rehabilitation counsellors,
employed by 18 Job Capacity Assessment service providers contracted
by DEEWR.
Job Capacity Assessors refer people with disabilities, and other
barriers to work, to appropriate employment and support services,
and their reports are used as the basis for Centrelink
decisions about capacity to work.
