Pastoral Services
Caring for your spirituality is part of our holistic approach to
health. Through our Pastoral Services Manager, the
team provides ministry and emotional support to
patients and their families.
Availability
Pastoral Services staff are available Monday to
Friday, offering a service of compassionate, professional
and spiritual ministry to all patients, family, carers and
staff. We offer a ministry of presence and care during regular
hospital visitation, and especially in times of anxiety or special
need. Making sure that you and your family have ongoing support
from church and community following discharge is also part of
Pastoral Service's ministry of referral.
The Chapel
The Chapel is situated adjacent to the front foyer. The
Chapel is a welcoming and special place for every member of
our hospital family. Its ambience provides a quiet space for
prayer, worship or meditation.
Wheelchair transport can be arranged to the Chapel. For those
who are unable to come to the Chapel, Communion and sacramental
ministry is available in a patient's room. Please ask the
visiting Pastoral Services staff.
Contacting Pastoral Services
Although we visit throughout the hospital regularly, we are not
always aware of where we are most needed. We invite you to contact
us at any time. Patients wishing to receive a Pastoral visit,
see a minister of your choice or receive Communion, Sacraments,
Ritual or Blessing, can ask their nurse or dial the
switchboard.
