Day chemotherapy
The Ivy Suite is available for day
patients attending for chemotherapy or other intravenous
therapies such as blood transfusions, gamma globulin infusions,
iron infusions and methyl prednisolone infusions and minor
procedures such as Bone Marrow Aspirate. Patients have their
treatment in one of 10 leather electric recliner chairs or
four beds depending on their clinical condition and length of stay.
The Suite has been designed to
ensure a comfortable and relaxed environment for patients with flat
screen televisions, kitchen facilities and a tranquil
courtyard to sit and enjoy fresh air.
The Ivy Suite is supported by
an an extensive multidisciplinary team
comprising Clinical Nurse Consultants, Clinical
Pharmacist, Social Worker, Dietician, Pastoral Care,
Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists and volunteers.
It is open Monday to Friday from 8am
to 6pm, and from 8am to 4pm on Saturday's for medical patients
only. You will need a referral from your
consulting physician and a booked appointment
before treatment at the Ivy Suite.
