St John of God Hospital, Richmond is committed to
reducing water and energy usage.
In 2009 rainwater tanks were commissioned to reduce water
consumption by 26% and water saving devices were installed on our
taps and showers.
We will be installing a heat pump system in August that will
provide hot water to our boilers and reduce gas consumption.
Jointly funded by the Federal Government and our group Environmental Capital Expenditure Fund, the
initiative has a projected reduction in greenhouse gas emissions of
548.78 tons annually.
A Working Party for Energy and Emissions Reduction and Recycling
will be established.
