Information for visitors

St John of God Pinelodge Clinic welcomes visitors.

Parking facilities

Visitor parking is available onsite and in the streets immediately surrounding the hospital. The hospital cannot accept responsibility for any loss or damage incurred when cars are parked at or around the hospital.

Visiting hours

  • Monday to Friday - 4.30pm to 8.30pm
  • Saturday & Sunday - 2.30pm to 8.30pm

Visitors are welcome outside these hours by special arrangement with caregivers. During visiting hours, there will be times when patients are unavailable due to group programs. However, visitors can check the timetables of these programs and schedule their visits around them. The hospital provides lounge rooms and outdoor courtyards where visitors and patients can meet. Visitors are not allowed in patients' bedrooms. Children are welcome but should be under adult supervision at all times.

Special visitor arrangements for Alcohol & Drug Dependency Unit patients

Withdrawing from drugs or alcohol can be an emotionally distressing time. Even visits from loved ones during this time can arouse strong feelings of grief, regret or shame and these feelings may result in some patients discharging themselves. As a result, the hospital's policy is that patients undergoing alcohol and drug withdrawal are only allowed visitors seven days after admission.

Cafes-Shops

St John of God Pinelodge Clinic does not have an onsite café or shop, although there is a vending machine that provides snacks and drinks. There are a number of shops available on Heatherton Road, just five minutes walk from the hospital.

Smoking

St John of God Pinelodge Clinic provides a number of designated smoking courtyards for the use of patients and visitors. Other than these areas, the hospital is smoke free.
