Health Charter

 

The Australian Charter of Healthcare Rights is available to everyone who uses Australia's healthcare system. The Charter sets out a partnership framework between patients and healthcare providers to enable a safe and high quality service.

Under the guidance of the Charter you can expect from your healthcare provider:

  • A right to safe and high quality care
  • A right to be shown respect, dignity and consideration
  • A right to be informed about services, treatment, options and costs in a clear and open way
  • A right to be included in decisions and choices about your care
  • A right to privacy and confidentiality of provided information
  • A right to comment on your care and have your concerns addressed
