Mental Health Week, 09 - 15 October 2011
Mental Health Week is a national promotional
campaign drawing attention to the social and emotional
wellbeing of people living with a mental, behavioural or
neurological illness. 10th October also marks World Mental Health
Day - an international day led by the World Health Organisation
(WHO) to highlight the need for effective mental health care across
the world.
Approximately one in five Australians will experience a
mental health illness in their lifetime. Mental illness affects
every facet of a person's life from employment, to relationships,
to everyday functioning. During Mental Health Week, Pinelodge
Clinic will be involved in local events and campaigns to raise
awareness of mental health issues and how it affects individuals,
families and communities.
