Social Outreach and Advocacy
Social Outreach and
Advocacy is the name given to the various ways in which our
profits are used to benefit the community.
Cardiac, pulmonary and oncology programs
At St John of God Nepean Rehabilitation Hospital, Social
Outreach and Advocacy provides Cardiac, Pulmonary and Oncology
maintenance programs to assist patients who have been through acute
and rehabilitation care to maintain the lifestyle and behavioural
changes that will keep them healthy.
Youth outreach
We recently signed a sponsorship agreement with Open Family
Australia to support a youth outreach worker who will help homeless
youth in Frankston. This project is in cooperation with the
Peninsula
Community Ownership Foundation - a local group of concerned
citizens
and business people.
Community breakfast
Our Social Outreach and Advocacy funds also support
the Frankston Churches Community Breakfast, a service which
provides a cooked breakfast to those in need in our area every week
day of the year. We provide the food for the breakfast, and our
caregivers volunteer their time.
