An elegant evening for Murdoch raises $10,000 for charity of the year
Wednesday 7 September 2011
Guests enjoyed a simply elegant evening at the
2011 St John of God Hospital Murdoch Annual Ball, held in the
Southern Cross Gala Ballroom at the Esplanade Hotel Fremantle on
Saturday 3 September.
Five hundred staff and friends, doctors,
allied health professionals, and key business partners attended in
support of the hospital’s Charity of the Year, Passages Project – a
special works project of St Vincent de Paul.
The Passages Resource Centre to be opened in
the Peel region will provide the marginalised and homeless young
people (12 – 25 years) with a 'passage' to help the transition from
one life to another.
A Silent Auction and raffle generously
supported by a range of local businesses raised nearly $10,000 for
the project.
Ball guests enjoyed a 'Simply Elegant' theme
with energetic entertainment by Proof in the main
ballroom, with many taking the option to relax in the ‘Recovery
Room’ late night lounge area with the urban vibe of
Neo.
St John of God Hospital Murdoch Chief
Executive Officer, Peter Mott, said the annual ball was the
highlight of the hospital’s social calendar.
“It was great to see everyone enjoying an
evening of first-class food, wine and entertainment in recognition
of the fantastic work our caregivers and doctors do around the
hospital,” Mr Mott said.
Silver Thomas Hanley, Burgess Rawson, HBF,
APHS Pharmacy Group, Creative ADM and Worldwide Printing Cannington
are major sponsors of the 2011 St John of God Hospital Murdoch
Annual Ball.
