Facilities
Services available during your stay
St John of God Hospital Geraldton has private rooms with modern
decor to make your stay as comfortable as possible. Each room
has an ensuite, radio, television and telephone.
Hospital Auxiliary
The Hospital Auxiliary meets regularly and supports our patients
and caregivers in many worthwhile ways. Volunteers from the
Auxiliary visit patients on the wards from Monday to Friday with
magazines, stationery, papers, toiletries etc which are available
to purchase from their trolley.
Electrical appliances
All electrical appliances such as hair dryers, shavers, laptop
computers, adaptors and radios need to be checked before use
due to Australian Standards legislation and our duty of care to our
patients. Please advise your caregiver if you wish to use your own
personal devices and they will arrange for the appropriate
electrical check to be completed.
Patient advocate
A patient advocate is available on extension 301 if you have any
concerns or queries in relation to your stay at the
hospital. Your discussions with our patient advocate will be
treated confidentially.
Volunteers
Our hospital is fortunate to have the support
of a dedicated volunteer group. They assist with many duties
around the hospital and contribute greatly to the hospital
atmosphere. Geraldton Palliative Care also trains and provides
volunteers to assist with the care of hospice patients. For
further information on becoming a volunteer, please contact Alison
Dawson, our Director of Mission, on 9965 8882.
