Your rights and responsibilities
As a patient you have the right:
- To participate in your own care
- To be treated with care, professional competence, consideration
and dignity
- To be told the names of all the people involved in caring
directly for you
- To be aware of all costs involved in your treatment (please
request to see the Patient Liaison Officer)
- To have all your personal and medical details kept with full
confidentiality
- To consent to or refuse a treatment or a visitor
- To receive current information concerning your treatment and
progress and any options or alternatives available
- To lodge a complaint about care or services (please request to
see the Hospital Coordinator)
To enhance our capacity to care for you we need your:
- Honesty about your medical history
- Compliance with medical instructions designed to aid your
recovery
- Observation of relevant hospital policies
