Where to come

St John of God Health Care Geelong is located at 80 Myers Street.  Patients are asked to arrange transportation to and from the hospital.

An undercover drop off parking zone is available at the front of the hospital.  Your partner will be required to relocate the car to the car park after you have been attended to.

If you require immediate assistance upon arrival, please have your partner notify the receptionist and remain in the car until help arrives.

When you arrive

When you arrive please register your name at the main entrance reception desk.

On the ward you will be met by our midwife who will show you to your room, explain the ward layout and routine and outline the program of care you will receive, taking into account your personal wishes.

During your stay in the Birthing Suite

In the birthing suite we encourage your partner to stay with you and be involved in your care during labour. Your partner's presence at the birth is very special and it is an experience that you will both share and remember.

An operating room is available should a caesarean section be required. Facilities are also available for epidural analgesia.

In the interest of privacy, caregivers cannot give details about the progress of labour or about the baby so please let you family and friends know that they can't phone the Birthing Suite enquiring about your condition. Arrange for your partner to contact the people you wish to keep informed. Each birth room has a phone.
