The importance of our volunteers

Our volunteer program promotes community involvement and
provides a vital link between the local community and St John of
God Hospital Geelong for the enrichment of all. We place great
emphasis on recognising the significant contribution that
volunteers make.
Contributions, whether large or small, are considered an
integral part of patient care.
Volunteers are required to:
- Have a customer services focus
- Respect confidentiality
- Be accountable and reliable
- Undertake orientation and relevant training
Benefits for volunteers
The major benefit of being in the volunteer program is the
satisfaction gained from helping and caring for others.
Knowing that they appreciate your service is
very rewarding.Opportunities to develop new friendships is
another benefit, as is the sense of making a difference in the
lives of others.
At St John of God Hospital we recognise and value our volunteers
for their generous contribution to patient services.
