Services during your stay

Laundry

Fresh towels and clean bed linen are available as required. Our hospital is equipped with laundry facilities for your personal washing, drying and ironing needs. All laundry machines are coin operated. Washing detergent can be purchased from Reception.

Electrical appliances

All personal electrical appliances brought into the Hospital must undergo a safety inspection before they can be used. These inspections are arranged through your Unit caregivers. Please note that personal or hired televisions are not permitted.

Flowers

Flowers should be delivered to reception so that delivery to your unit can be arranged.

Meals

You are encouraged to have your meals in our Dining Room. Meal times are available within all our Units.

Medication

Following admission to hospital, or on return from leave, any medication should be:

  • left in the care of your attending nursing staff
  • dispensed from the Nurses' Station at times advised by the Unit staff
  • ordered by staff from our pharmacy

Newspapers

Newspapers are delivered to reception daily and can be bought by patients.

Non-electric razors and sharp instruments

On arrival, please deposit all non-electric razors or sharp instruments, including disposable razors, with a caregiver on your Unit for safe keeping.

Photocopying and facsimile services

These services are available from Reception for a small fee. Prior authorisation from your Unit Manager must be arranged.

The hospital provides yoga held by a qualified yoga instructor for patients on a regular basis. An onsite fitness facility also offers regular exercise sessions. The exercise sessions are run by a physiotherapist and include walks and recreational games.

Requesting leave

Leave from hospital is only given in exceptional circumstances, or where leave is planned as part of your therapy. There are a range of options available that can be negotiated with your
treating team.

Telephones

Outgoing calls - your caregivers will advise you of the location of the pay phones closest to your area.

Local calls are free available within your allocated Unit.

Internet vouchers and Wireless vouchers can be purchased from Reception.

There are no ATM Facilities available on site.

Family and friends can contact you via the phone available in your Unit. To avoid causing disruptions to your treatment program, callers are encouraged to ring outside medical consultation or group therapy times.
