$14.8 million hospital redevelopment

$14.8m redevelopment
St John of God Hospital Burwood is investing
$14.8m in redeveloping its Grantham Street site, increasing its
ability to provide much needed psychiatric and drug and alcohol
services.
The redevelopment includes:
- a new 12 bed stand-alone Parent-Infant
Unit
- relocation of the Counselling and Therapy
Centre to new Parramatta Rd property
- relocation and refurbishment of the ECT
suite
- Increased garden areas to encourage
relaxation and reflection for patients, visitors and
caregivers
- Internal renovation and refurbishment of main
Hospital
- New Chapel
- New gymnasium
- Additional parking
The $14.8m redevelopment is expected to be
completed in late 2013.

Burton, said the organisation was focused on meeting community need
and continually reinvested in its facilities and communities. “Our
redevelopment at Burwood will ensure that people can access the
very best mental health services in an environment conducive to
healing and wellbeing, as well as ensuring the growth of our
contribution into mental health research.”
