Environmental
St John of God Hospital Burwood is committed to reducing water
and energy usage.
In 2009 installation of rainwater tanks reduced water
consumption by a 26%. Ongoing environmental initiatives
include the installation of a heat pump system, which will provide
hot water to our boilers and reduce gas consumption, funded jointly
by the Federal Government and the group's Environmental Expenditure Fund. It is
estimated to achieve a reduction in greenhouse gas emissions of
370.96 tons per annum.
