Easing the struggle for South West patients with cancer
Patients and families will benefit from specialist cancer
treatment at the South West Health Campus and then be able to
stay in a homelike environment at the new south west cancer
accommodation and wellness centre at Bethanie Dalyellup.

Countdown begins for $35.9M health redvelopment
At $35.9 million, it will be the largest scale redevelopment of
the South West Health Campus and boost specialist services to the
entire South West region. Unhampered by recent rain and
overwhelming heat, work has begun in earnest on turning the St John
of God Bunbury Hospital gardens and car parks into what Hospital
Chief Executive, Mark Grime has said is ‘Western Australia’s first
ever regional coronary care unit (CCU) and comprehensive cancer
centre (CCC).

Success for first WA regional cancer trials research unit
The first WA regional cancer trials research unit shows regional
patients can participate in studies similar to metropolitan
patients. South West residents benefit from Val Lishman Health
Research Foundation and St John of God Bunbury Hospital
establishing the first International Clinical trials in regional
Western Australia.

graduate from inaugural class of Clinical Pastoral Care certificate
program
Today the Bunbury Catholic Diocese acknowledged and celebrated
the inaugural Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) program in the
South West of WA hosted at St John of God Bunbury Hospital
Chapel.

St John of God Bunbury Hospital Chief Executive Officer,
Mark Grime, today announced the appoinment of Bunbury-based
construction company, Perkins Builders to manage the next stage of
the $35.97M expansion at the South West Health Campus. This is
another milestone in the private-public partnership working toward
meeting the South West region's health care needs into the
future.
Preliminary construction
activities, known as ‘forward works’ underway at the South West
Health Campus since August 2011 are on schedule for completion by
15 December 2011. St John of God Bunbury Hospital Chief Executive
Officer, Mark Grime, said ‘three months of major preliminary work
to realign the internal road and construct underground
infrastructure clears the way for the next stage of building works
to commence in January 2012.’
