Raphael Centre

As a not-for-profit organisation, St John of God Healthcare is committed to investing human and material resources into the community through a Social Outreach and Advocacy program. We have a well established reputation as a provider of antenatal and postnatal services with other existing Raphael Centres located in Subiaco, Western Australia, Geelong and Warrnambool. 

The Raphael Centre is a specialist perinatal mental health service provided by St John of God Hospital in Berwick - the only one of its kind in Melbourne's south-east corridor. The centre provides a range of individual and group therapy programs aimed at promoting recovery from ante/post natal mood disorders and preventing long term difficulties. It offers early detection, intervention and support at a time when families may be at their most vulnerable. The Raphael Centre provides places where parents can find the understanding they need in this difficult period.

The centre offers support and information services for parents affected by anxiety or depression during pregnancy or in the two years following the birth of their baby.

Families can self refer or seek a referral from a GP or Specialist.
