St John of God Hospital Berwick supports many local
community initiatives and charitable organisations. We have
identified organisations which contribute to the health and
wellbeing of the community and which share compatible values
with St John of God Hospital Berwick.
South Eastern Arts Festival
Each April, we sponsor the South Eastern Arts Festival
(SEAF) held at St Margaret's School Berwick, with the final
event held in the Drum Theatre, Dandenong. The event showcases
local young musicians and artists through a series of
performances and competitions which are all open to the
public. Our ongoing support helps children and young
people get experience in the arts.
4C's (Cardinia Combined Churches Caring)
At Christmas time, the hospital donates food hampers
to the 4C's charity. The charity provides emergency food relief for
families in crisis, the homeless and needy in the Shire of
Cardinia. The organisation is run entirely by volunteers and
receives no governments funding. Donations can be made to the 4C's
Food Bank by calling 5941 2268.
Relay for Life
Since 2005, St John of God Hospital has entered a
team in Berwick's Relay for Life event at Akoonah Park to
raise much needed funds for the Cancer Council. The hospital
matches the funds raised by its staff members as a way to boost our
donation - this year a total of $5,000 was donated. Relay for Life
is a national event which celebrates cancer survivors and
remembers loved ones lost to cancer.
