Carrie grew up in Cape Town, South Africa, where she completed her medical training and specialist studies at Groote Schuur Hospital.

After relocating to Melbourne with her family in January 2020, she spent four years as a Senior Registrar at the Royal Women’s Hospital. During this time, she gained recognition as a specialist in Obstetrics and Gynaecology in Australia and was awarded her FRANZCOG in 2024.

Carrie is passionate about supporting empowered births and has a special interest in caring for people with high‑risk pregnancies. She works closely with her patients to develop birth preferences that are safe, achievable, and aligned with their values.

Carrie also works part-time at Bendigo Health as a staff-specialist Obstetrician and Gynaecologist and loves training and mentoring emerging specialists. Outside of work, Carrie enjoys spending time with her partner and three girls, who keep her on her toes with their endless energy and ambitions.

She has a lifelong love of horses and hopes to return to riding soon. In the meantime, she has developed a passion for Pilates and training for half marathons. Carrie has founded Vine to bring warmth, compassion, and deep clinical expertise to her work, supporting birthing families with personalised care at every stage of their journey.
