Dr Liyanage graduated from the University of Peradeniya Sri Lanka with a Bachelor of Medicine / Surgery in 2000. He then completed his training at the University of Colombo Sri Lanka with a degree as Doctor of Medicine in 2007.
Dr Liyanage completed further studies and gained entry to the Royal College of Physicians of London in 2010. After extensive training Dr Liyanage was awarded the Fellowship on the Royal Australasian College of Physicians in 2015.
