Rohan grew up in the Yarra Valley on a farm, before moving to Melbourne to complete his Bachelor of Science at the University of Melbourne, majoring in anatomy and physiology. He then completed a research year at the University of Melbourne in developmental neurobiology, achieving first class honours. With a passion for tertiary education Rohan then taught anatomy at various Melbourne based universities including, the University of Melbourne, Monash University, La Trobe University and Victoria University.

A change in career took Rohan to Newcastle, where he completed his Bachelor of Medicine. Internship and junior surgical years were based at the Royal Melbourne Hospital. Rohan then spent 12 months in Darwin as a general surgical trainee, before completing his urological training in Queensland. He completed his fellowship year at Queen Elizabeth II hospital in laparoscopic and reconstructive urology.

It was an easy choice for Rohan and his family to choose Bendigo in 2014, as they craved a regional lifestyle, with a large hospital network to allow Rohan to continue his major oncology and reconstructive practice. Bendigo was building a state-of-the-art public hospital and there was investment into other health networks within the region.

Rohan is very passionate about being able to deliver the best outcomes for every patient and believes building a regional centre of excellence is key to delivering excellent health care to regional and rural patients.

Rohan operates at Bendigo Health, St John of God (Bendigo), Bendigo Day Surgery, Echuca, and Castlemaine. He consults at Sandhurst Urology, Bendigo Health, and Echuca. Rohan continues his passion for teaching, as the director of urological training at Bendigo Health, being rewarded with training junior doctors, including an accredited urological trainee. Rohan is an instructor with several courses at the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons. Rohan continues to be involved with the urological Society of Australasia as surgical supervisor and is on the selection committee for the board of urology.

Rohan offers urological expertise in prostate cancer, kidney cancer, bladder cancer, penile and testicular cancers. He also treats kidney stones, male bladder dysfunction, testosterone deficiency and disorders of the penis. Rohan’s training in urethral reconstruction allows him to offer solutions to complex urethral and penile pathologies. He also has expertise in implanting urological prosthetics including artificial urinary sphincters, male urethral slings and penile prostheses.

Rohan and his family appreciate being a part of the Loddon Mallee community, and Rohan is proud to be an integral part of the urological health service for our region.
