Ms Ruth Bollard is a General Surgeon who has clinical interests in breast cancer and reconstructive surgery. Her expertise is in oncoplastic breast surgery, aimed at maximising the cosmetic result following breast conservation surgery for breast cancer using advanced surgical techniques. These skills include the use of breast reduction and breast lift techniques, implant reconstruction, lipomodelling and LD flap reconstruction. 

Trained in the UK at internationally renowned breast units, she gained extensive experience in reconstructive breast surgical techniques.  In 2001, she  worked in the NHS for five years established a reconstructive oncoplastic breast surgery service providing patient-centred care, delivered by a multidisciplinary team that included full-time breast care nurses. 

She has been operating and consulting in Ballarat for 15 years with more 30 years of experience in general surgery and more than 15 years of experience in the field of Oncoplastic breast surgery.

Ms Bollard's surgical practice is in both the public and private sector and includes experience in general surgery, endoscopy, hernia, skin cancers, Melanoma, laparoscopic gallbladder surgery and endocrine surgery.  She also has clinical interests in thyroid and parathyroid surgery for both benign and cancer patients. She provides coordinated care of these patients though the cancer head and neck multidisciplinary cancer meeting.
